Series and shunt DC motor models
DC motors are fascinating devices, capable of converting direct current enegy into mechanical energy. Typically, we are required to design circuits able to control or drive the motors, for example a soft-start circuit or a speed control circuit. To be able to design such circuits is it fundamental to understand the physical behavior of the motor. and also be able to model the motor with an equivalent electrical circuit that emulates the physical behavior of the motor. This is fundamental in order to simulate our designed circuit to verify its performance.
